Travel Guide:
Tokyo, Japan
-
PROJECT OVERVIEW
This Tokyo Travel Guide reflects my time in Japan, highlighting the top three locations
I visited along with a curated list of places I hope to explore in the future. Rather than
creating a strict itinerary, I focused on capturing the spirit of discovery by showcasing
destinations that resonated with me and others that remain on my must‑see list.
The design embraces Tokyo’s vibrant nightlife and urban energy, using a neon‑inspired
color palette that echoes the city’s illuminated streets. More than a simple map of attractions,
the guide aims to immerse readers in the experience of wandering through Tokyo—from
iconic landmarks to hidden gems waiting to be found.

APPROACH
The design for this guide followed the same spontaneous, intuitive approach as the concept itself, with colors and layout chosen instinctively to reflect Tokyo’s electric, neon‑lit atmosphere. Without rigid planning, the composition emerged organically through experimentation and the natural flow of creativity, allowing the map and visuals to embody the joy of exploration rather than strict structure.

I embraced a freeform process—favoring expressive choices over meticulous refinement—so the imagery and layout could capture the movement, curiosity, and energy of wandering through the city. Ultimately, this guide isn’t about adhering to a fixed itinerary; it celebrates the thrill of discovery, from iconic highlights to hidden gems waiting to be found.
